The Times Union has featured our Eastern New York based Construction Excellence Awards:

3 Capital Region firms win construction excellence awards

The Associated Builders & Contractors Empire State Chapter recently hosted its annual Construction Excellence Awards gala where more than 200 construction industry professionals gathered to celebrate projects, workforce development, safety achievement and more.

The chapter presented 36 awards recognizing projects across New York state, representing approximately $2 billion in construction value. Projects ranged from just under $300,000 to more than $600 million and spanned a wide range of categories, including commercial, residential, mixed-use, environmental and infrastructure.

Three projects in the Eastern New York region were recognized:

  • Gallo Construction won the Historical Renovation award for its work on the Charleton Community Center and the Recreational award for the Schenectady Central Park Tennis Courts. The company also earned runner-up honors in the Renovation category for its work on the Spruce Street Garage.
  • Renua Energy won the Renewable Energy award for its work on the Town of Beacon Highway Garage.
  • W.M. Schultz Construction won the Public Works/Environmental award for its work on the Hatfield Wastewater Treatment Plant.

ā€œDespite continued challenges facing merit shop contractors in New York, our members continue to demonstrate what is possible through innovation, investment in their workforce, and an unwavering commitment to quality and safety,ā€ said Brian Sampson, president of ABC’s Empire State Chapter. ā€œThe projects recognized this year represent the very best of our industry and highlight the impact our members make in communities across the state every day.ā€
