Politics and Policy
ABC actively works with all levels of government to represent member interests and the merit shop construction industry. Fortune magazine has recognized ABC’s efforts in Washington, D.C., by naming the association one of the “most influential” organizations in the United States.
The Empire Chapter has blocked more than $1.3B worth of PLA’s over the past year. That equates to each contractor being eligible to bid & win more work.
- Monitor legislative activity and lobbies at local, state and federal levels on behalf of the industry
- Maintain communications with political players for industry awareness and access to present our positions
- Communicate with members about pending legislation and what it means to their business
- ABC has established relationships with federal, state and local agencies to provide feedback concerning industry issues and to serve as a resource for the implementation of industry regulation.
Training & HR Management
ABC is a leader in construction training. From apprenticeship and craft training to office and future leadership classes, we have the education services catered perfectly for merit shop contractors.
Last year alone we hit more than 80,000 hrs. of classroom training.
- ABC now operates one of NY's largest multiple employer apprenticeship programs. Our members will have access to 9 different trades
- Provide craft training programs, supervisory courses, management seminars, crew leadership training and safety training
- Serve as a resource for health, workers compensation, 401K plans, and other insurance needs
