ABC

The Empire State Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC), wants to highlight our over 450 merit-shop contractors and subcontractors employing hundreds of thousands of workers across New York State and their continued commitment to safety on job sites. Through programs like STEP, our members continue to lead the way on improving working conditions and building a safer New York.

While a price can’t be put on safety, ABC members show their commitment to making construction safer by investing over 1 billion dollars into the STEP program annually. The self-assessment tool helps participants identify real opportunities for scalable growth in their health and safety programs to lower their total recordable incident rates. Safety requires a proven strategy to create industry-leading programs. Top-performing ABC members actively build health and safety into their culture, leaders and employees commit to health andĀ safety programs ensuring the total human health of their team.

When leaders refuse to compromise on safety, they set the standard for the entire industry. By implementing proven health and safety systems, companies not only protect their workers but also achieve measurable improvements in performance and reputation in the marketplace. These results are the tangible benefits that arise from the consistent application of proven best practices in jobsite safety and ABC is incredibly proud of the progress our members have made and will continue to make to improve the safety on jobsites and overall health of workers at work and at home.
