New Law Requires OSHA Ten Hour Construction Safety Training for Your Employees

Governor Spitzer signed a new law on July 18, 2007, which becomes effective exactly one year from that date, that requires “all laborers, workers, and mechanics employed in the performance of any construction, reconstruction, maintenance and/or repair of public work to which the state or a municipality is a party, and the total cost of all work to be performed is at least $250,000, shall be certified prior to performing any work as having successfully completed the OSHA 10-hour safety course”.

So if you do public work here in New York State, and the total cost of the projects you normally perform work on are in excess of $250,000, all of your workers on the job must have OSHA 10-hour certification. ABC stands ready to assist you in complying with this new law which will become effective on July 18, 2008.
