The Trimmer Construction Education Foundation (TCEF) is pleased to announce the Build Your Future scholarship application sponsored by NCCER is accepting applications. This opportunity is open to anyone who is currently pursuing craft professional training in the construction industry through an NCCER-accredited program or a state or federally approved apprenticeship program in a merit-shop training facility.

ABC Member Describes Value of Careers in Construction to Congressional Panel

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) member Shapiro & Duncan, Inc.’s Paul Tse today explained to Congress how a high school degree and technical education (CTE) program launched his successful career in construction. Tse, a project manager for the Rockville, Md.-based contractor, testified at a hearing of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Education and the Workforce titled “Helping Students Succeed by Strengthening the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act.”

In observance of Safety Week, Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today released its 2016 Safety Performance Report to further the industry’s understanding of how to make construction jobsites safer. Packed with infographics and practical takeaways, the report documents the dramatic impact of using proactive safety practices to reduce recordable incidents by up to 86 percent, making the best-performing companies 720 percent safer than the industry average.

ABC Lauds Passage of Amendment Protecting Contractors From ‘Blacklisting’ Proposal

Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) today praised the adoption of an amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that undermines the harmful Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces proposed rule and guidance. Introduced by Rep. John Kline (R-Minn.) and Rep. Joe Wilson (R-S.C.), the amendment would exclude the Department of Defense (DoD) and the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) from the controversial “blacklisting” proposal.
