- The Trust has regulatory approval to establish our own rates based on our group's favorable claims experience. This results in lower upfront premiums not subject to NYS compensation increases.
- The Trust is not subject to the 13.6% NY premium assessment. Our assessment is based on indemnity (wages) payments.
- Members benefit from investment income earned on claims’ reserves, premiums, dividends and surplus.
- Our unique "split dividend" program provides for dividend payments on both a group and individual member basis.
- Other benefits include construction specific safety services, monthly payment plans, and aggressive claims administration.
The majority of construction rates and the NYS Assessment have increased since 1997. Over 300 safety conscious merit shop contractors and suppliers have joined the Trust and avoided these rising costs.
