OSHA 30 Hour Safety Training
Designed for safety directors, foremen and field supervisors - provides more depth and detail regarding OSHA Regulations, hazard awareness and compliance.
OSHA 10 Hour Safety Training*
Designed for construction workers, supervisors and other personnel responsible for construction activities. This course is required of all field personnel working on NYSDOL valued at more than $250,000. Workers must be able to show proof of their successful completion of this course upon demand by DOL.
Adult First Aid/CPR*
Labor Relations*
Topics include: history of labor, the merit shop philosophy, work ethic, zero tolerance, and job site relations. This program fulfills the supplemental labor relations requirement of the Construction Essentials NYS approved apprentice class.
Harassment Prevention*
Topics include: an introduction and overview of laws designed to protect people from workplace harrassment; harassment in a nutshell; verbal, physical, visual and electronic harassment.
Introduction to Safety Orientation*
Hand and Power Tool Safety, Hazard Recognition - Evaluation and Control, Elevated Work and Fall Protection, Construction Health, Work Permit Systems, Personal Protective Equipment, Trenching Safety, Signs - Signals and Barricades, Materials Handling and Storage, Housekeeping, Emergency Response, Electrical Hazards, Specialty Work, and Fire Protection and Prevention. The instructor for this program is OSHA 500 certified which allows all participants to receive their OSHA 10 cards.
Lead Awarenss*
This program provides students with an awareness of the hazards associated with lead exposure and how to minimize the lead and respirable dust exposure potentials of personnel performing abrasive blasting, welding, cutting, brazing or other work on painted or primed material.
Asbestos Awareness*
This program introduces students to the applicable OSHA standards, how to make employees aware of asbestos, and how to prevent exposure to asbestos in the workplace.
Hazardous Waste Operation (Hazwoper)
Training addresses safety issues confronting workers engaged in hazardous material cleanup operations Students will acquire skills working with PPE, monitoring equipment, hazard evaluation, decontamination and first aid training.
Asbestos Abatement
Training will provide certification of skill in maintenance and repair activities of small scale and short duration which may disturb asbestos.
Lead Abatement
Topics include health effects of lead, monitoring, PPE, respiratory protection, work area preparation, precautions, containment, cleanup and disposal.
* These courses must be successfully completed by NYSDOL Registered Apprentices prior to graduation. Documentation of these courses must be provided to the NYSDOL at the end of the apprenticeship program.
