Instruction to the Trade
Covers the history of glass, its importance to progress, what glaziers do today and where they work.
Types of Glass
Covers characteristics of mirrors, rolled, spandrel, insulating, reflective, laminated, heat-strengthened and tempered glass.
Handling Glass Manually
Presents procedures for edging, drilling and notching glass, and techniques for making cutouts and cutting circles.
Handling Glass Mechanically
Covers dollies, sling systems, vacuum cup lift frames and related equipment and standard hand signals for lifting.
Introduction to Blueprint Reading
Introduces trainees to basic conventions used in blueprint reading. Included are shop drawings for a storefront installation and 10 blueprints.
Sealants, Part One
Covers application and characteristics of sealants, effects of thermal movement, wind loads, and joint design on sealants.
